JAR & Company | Alabama Photographer |

I’ve always loved Florence, AL. It has so many unique shoppes, cute nooks and crannies for photo shoots, an incredible music scene, and some of the best restaurants! I’m already planning a date night for me and the hunny that’ll cover all over Florence!

I did a shoot today with a clothing store on South Court street {right near the campus of the University of North Alabama} that has some of the greatest clothes!! They’re fairly new to the area, you can find them at 123 South Court Street! Jar & Company are on Facebook too! I’ve always been a sucker for bow ties and button ups! If I could dress all my clients {especially the boys} in their clothes, I completely would!!

A big thanks goes out to our dapper and willing model, Clayton!

Not only do they have the sweetest staff {Marianne – run in and tell her hi!} but they have QUITE the greeting committee! Sweet pups Amos and Cruz! And we all know I’m a sucker for dogs! I had a hard time not just loving on those boys the whole time I was there! So if you’re in their neck of the woods, swing in and at least grab yourself one of their super cute koozies!! I can’t wait to go back already!

Ashley and Bubba | Alabama Wedding Photographer |

Bubba and I went to high school together, WAY back in the day! So I was stoked to be able to photograph him and his SUPER SWEET fiance, Ashley! They’ve been together for 8 years now! Yay!! They have a sweet beagle together, Marlie {who of course made an appearance!} and just got their first house! Congratulations! Welcome to grown up life! Haha! I cannot wait for their wedding this fall, and at one of my all time favorite locations!! It’ll be draped in lace and laid with burlap! I absolutely cannot wait! Here’s a few shots from their e-session today! Like the truck? It’s Ashley’s Pa-paw’s BEAUTIFUL 1946 Chevy!! I was instantly in love! She’s beautiful!

About Jessica!

::Some of the basics, and some of the goofs::

I’ve always loved my middle name – Meghan. Jessica was ridiculously popular in 1987, so I tried to get Meghan to stick in grade school. It didn’t work.:D

I have been blessed with a man designed for me, by God. Truly. I made a list of 70+ items {some of them SUPER random} for my ‘perfect man’ to avoid heartache when I was 17 -
then God sent me Christopher. We started dating in February 2007 and have been in love ever since.

I have the closest bond imaginable with my border collie mix, Aviar. It’s strange. I never knew I’d love a dog like this. But I feel like she’s an extension of myself. A sometimes bratty extension
but one nonetheless.

Collecting coffee mugs has become something of a habit for me.

I bleed Milo’s Sweet Tea.

I am a college graduate. Took me 7 1/2 years. But I did it.

I love cooking and baking. I also have an impressive collection of kitchen gadgets. My KitchenAid  Pro mixer is named Ms. Pearl and I could eat fresh eggs from down the road all day.

My favorite colors vary. I’ve always loved Nickelodeon orange. But I’m also a sucker for teal.

I love Alabama football.

I was born in Savannah, Georgia.

I’m a sucker for cobblestone streets.

I have seen every episode of FRIENDS at least 12 times. No joke. I finally got the entire series on Blu Ray for my birthday,
it’ll go down in the record books as the best gift ever.

I’m part fish. I could stay in the water all day.

My favorite cake flavors are carrot and red velvet.

I’m only serious if I have to be. I prefer life goofy.

I have always loved animals. I used to pour through books learning any and every thing I could about them.
Some favorites are elephants, penguins, and moose.

I’ve been kissed by a giraffe.

Favorite thing about summer nights: fireflies in mason jars.

I’ve recently fallen in love with the band Gloriana, and Country music is growing on me!

When I get stressed, I like to clean the house, top to bottom with a glass of wine.
Also – I love wine.

And, of course, I love being a photographer!

*please note, not all of these images are mine and some aren’t the best quality*

Kristen ::Styled Beauty:: | Alabama Photographer | Bridal Photographer |

Sometimes life gets crazy. With work, with family, with mountains of laundry. You name it. So sometimes it’s nice to have some time scheduled for something therapeutic - whether it be a bubble bath, a pedicure, a good book, a glass of wine, etc. For me, this shoot was just that. A good dose of relaxation and beauty that made me feel like an artist again. It’s really great when you have super pretty friends that are willing to take your visions and bring them to life. My friend Kristen is just that person, not only is she breathtaking, but she’s a natural, I rarely needed to give her direction, we’d share a story and a laugh and as soon as my camera was back up in my hands she went straight back into character. So here’s a life lesson for you: sometimes you just get bogged down {thankfully I love my job and I’m not hitting my head against a windowless cubicle 40 hours a week}. But sometimes you just want to escape, even if it IS just to your backyard.:D

Lime & Cilantro Shrimp | Healthy Living |

Tonight’s recipe is SUPER easy!! You only need 4 real ingredients!!!

2 Limes

1/3 cup fresh Cilantro

2 tsp Garlic

Raw shrimp, deveined and tails off

1. On the stove {or you could grill them if you prefer!}, heat up some olive oil in a pan, drop in the garlic cloves {minced, I just buy a giant thing of already minced garlic and keep it in the fridge, it’s in a lot of what I eat}, add in the shrimp. Watch them! They only take about 2 minutes per side
and you don’t want to over cook them or they’ll be rubbery!

2. When the shrimp are done, add them into a bowl and squeeze the lime juice all over them, then add in the cilantro. If your limes aren’t easy to squeeze, before cutting them, put them in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time until they are, this’ll help the juice flow better and your hands won’t be sore from squeezing!

3. Serve with salad or brown rice!

Super easy! Clean! And perfect for those hot summer days!
